NASEM’s Protecting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Higher Education and the Workforce: A Workshop

Sponsored by the Department of Health and Human Services, this multiday event will examine how industry and institutions of higher education can safeguard efforts to support diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

Major objectives of the workshop include:

• Identify practices with demonstrated success that have led to increased diversity in student and workforce populations;

• Highlight best practices in the selection process for undergraduate, graduate, and medical school admissions and  industry workforce development programs; and

• Explore the impact of movements to reverse legal precedents, such as Affirmative Action, on diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in science, engineering, and medicine.
